This is THE COURSE to begin the journey towards practicing Breastfeeding Medicine
The goal of this course is to provide breadth and depth of clinical knowledge for physicians and other providers who desire comprehensive breastfeeding education. Each session will focus on evaluation and management strategies in a case-based format, so that participants leave with the knowledge and skills to manage a wide variety of breastfeeding problems that they will encounter in a typical primary care practice.

National Breastfeeding Conference & Convening Pathfinders: Honoring Lactation Wisdom & Nurturing Innovation

The USBC conference brings together a diverse set of clinical, community, advocacy, and research professionals who recognize the public health importance of breastfeeding as critical for reducing the burden of infant morbidity and mortality, childhood and adolescent overweight, obesity, and chronic disease, and maternal type 2 diabetes and maternal breast and ovarian cancers.
Featuring an engaging intersection of plenary presentations, panel discussions and networking opportunities, the convening is designed to develop and strengthen the leadership capacity of the public health workforce. Representatives from direct service organizations, breastfeeding coalitions, hospitals and healthcare facilities, health departments, research institutions, and federal agencies will learn and engage with opportunities to effectively protect, promote, and support breastfeeding at the national, state, local, and community levels.
