At the California Breastfeeding Coalition we strive to advocate and raise awareness of new and current breastfeeding laws and lactation policies to all Californians. We want to continue bringing you the most up to date and relevant information to help families, local coalitions, and other breastfeeding advocate find the resources they need to be successful.

Join our new Website Redesign Committee and share your thoughts and needs as we develop a site that will help support our growing breastfeeding community in the best way possible.

What is the Website Redesign Committee?

The Website Redesign Committee is a team created to ensure we move our new website in the right direction by adding content and accessibility making sure our audience can find what the are looking for. We ask that you read the following information regarding the expectations and time commitment we are asking of those interested in our committee.

What is expected of me if I participate?

Qualifications:

• Enthusiastic: Committee members are excited about the new website and are cheerleaders for the website in your community.
• Open-minded: Decision-by-committee always means some degree of compromise. State your opinions but be willing to modify them based on the research presented and group consensus.
• Web knowledge: A basic understanding of modern website terminology: Helpful, but not required. If you use the web on a daily basis, that should suffice.
• Familiarity: Be familiar with our current website: What about it do you feel needs to change? Why? What, if anything, do you think should remain the same?

Time Requirements:

• Meetings: Attendance at 3 or 4 website meetings, each lasting about an hour, all to be conducted online.
• Survey/Interview time: 20-30 minutes to answer a questionnaire and/or be interviewed about your thoughts for a new site.
• Feedback time: About 1-3 hours to review designs and provide feedback (via email).
• Writing time: Sometimes, committee members are asked to help with writing or editing content for the website.

Timeframe:

• Please respond by Friday, May 18
• Initial meeting: Week of May 28th
• Two to three additional meetings will be added as the project progresses
• Projected Completion Date: Friday, June 29th, 2018
