San Diego County’s Busy Breastfeeding Month: Seminar, Awards, and Milk Drive!
The San Diego County Breastfeeding Coalition hosted a mini-seminar educational event on Saturday, August 5th. The topic was “Breastfeeding and Postpartum Mood Disorders: Milk, Hope & Tears.” Organizers report the turnout was excellent!

SDCBC also hosted their annual World Breastfeeding Week Hospital Contest. The winner was Tri-City Medical Center in Oceanside, and the runners-up were Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women & Newborns in San Diego and Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas. Congratulations to all the winners!

On Monday, August 7th, from 7:30am-2pm, Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women & Newborns hosted its annual donor milk drive. As always, a great success for our neediest babies, and a great gift by breastfeeding mothers and families.
