If we truly want to protect, promote and support breastfeeding, there needs to be engagement and education across all areas of society, rather than just healthcare. All of the different people across governments, healthcare, workplaces and community spaces, make up the warm chain of breastfeeding support.
This year for World Breastfeeding Week 2024, GOLD is excited to embrace the theme of “Closing the Gap: Breastfeeding Support for All” by bringing you a brand new presentation from Robin Kaplan M.Ed, IBCLC, FNC and Chardá Bell IBCLC, titled “The Critical First Week of Breastfeeding: Strategies for Increasing Infant Health and Equity”. Join our expert speakers to learn more about why breastfeeding is about so much more than just food, the forces that can negatively impact breastfeeding initiation and duration, and strategies for engaging key community members to increase equitable lactation support.
