Delivering compassionate and culturally-responsive care is essential when supporting individuals and communities from diverse backgrounds. This engaging session will provide insight into lived experiences, societal values and beliefs, and perspectives on liberation psychologies—helping service providers elevate their service delivery and build deeper connections with those seeking support and resources.

Here’s what you’ll learn:

  • Identify aspects of intersecting identities and how they can be an asset or barrier to culturally-responsive services.
  • Describe five types of trauma and how they interconnect in the lived experiences of individuals and communities.
  • Analyze the history of hate and violence in America and its impact on systems of care and community well-being.
  • Gain insight on liberation psychologies and how this framework can be integrated into supportive services to improve maternal and infant health outcomes.

Continuing Education: CEUs (1 Contact Hour & 1.5 L-CERPs) and access to the recording are available for purchase: $19: https://breastfeedla.thinkific.com/courses/compassion-and-care.
