Join this FREE Info Session and find out how to become a trauma-informed, resilience-oriented lactation educator.

Attend the FREE Info Session to learn all about Tender Love, an 18-contact-hour training for non-clinical perinatal care professionals. Tender Love is an expansion of the program developed for the LA County Department of Public Health’s African-American Infant and Maternal Mortality Project– now available to the public.

In Tender Love, you will:

  • Discover how to practice empathy without over-identifying with clients and incurring vicarious trauma.

  • Become better equipped to guide others through the perinatal period with resilience, compassion, and a deep understanding of trauma’s impact.

  • Learn how to take client trauma histories and engage in low-impact disclosure while giving and receiving peer support.

  • Develop strategies for cross-role collaboration and coalition building in perinatal healthcare teams.

Sign up for the FREE Info Session today to meet Tender Love facilitators Nkem Ndefo and Mikaela Johnson Vaal and get an inside look at this exclusive upcoming training program for doulas, childbirth and lactation educators, and newborn care specialists.

18 R-CERPs recognized by IBLCE. IBLCE CERPs Recognition Number: STP Number C2023080. (IBLCE continuing education hours are accepted by ICEA).

If you are a non-clinical perinatal care professional passionate about making a difference, Tender Love is here for you. Together, we can continue to shine a light on the path toward resilient, trauma-informed care for parents and babies.
