Where LATCH came from
Unequal access to lactation support is tied to higher rates of breast cancer, infant illness, and maternal depression. LATCH exists to close that gap and is funded through the Californians Linking Action with Science for Prevention of Breast Cancer (CLASP-BC) grant and shaped by families and coalition partners across California.
