Sponsor Spotlight: CDPH/WIC – Supporting Families Across California

The California Breastfeeding Coalition is proud to welcome the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Division as a sponsor of the 2026 California Breastfeeding Summit. As one of the state’s most trusted family support programs, CDPH/WIC plays a vital role in strengthening the health and well-being of California’s youngest children and the people who care for them.

CDPH/WIC administers the California WIC Program, a statewide initiative that provides families with nutrition education, breastfeeding support, healthy foods, and referrals to medical care and community resources. Their services support infants and children up to age 5, along with people who are pregnant, postpartum, or who have experienced pregnancy loss. WIC’s inclusive approach ensures that partners, grandparents, foster parents, and working families are all welcomed and supported.

A long-time sponsor and member of the California Breastfeeding Summit, CDPH/WIC continues to be a cornerstone in promoting, protecting, and supporting breastfeeding — especially for income-eligible families who rely on accessible, culturally informed care. Their partnership with the CBC helps expand the reach of WIC services and strengthens referral pathways among lactation consultants, hospitals, clinics, and other health care professionals across the state.

We are deeply grateful for CDPH/WIC’s enduring commitment to California families and their ongoing collaboration with the California Breastfeeding Coalition. Their work ensures that families not only receive nourishment, but also compassion, community connection, and support during some of the most important years of life.
